Belek Beach photoshoot

Belek Beach photoshoot

Belek is a long resort area east of Antalya, with a sandy coastline stretching for kilometres along the hotel strip. Morning light on the water is even, and evening light on the sand is warm and soft.

The shore is sandy and the entry into the sea is gentle, so it feels safe for children and works exactly as it should for family and resort-style frames. We shoot without rushing, walk along the sand and catch the soft evening light by the water.

about the location

What to know about a shoot on the sandy beach in Belek

  1. An open shoot spot

Belek’s coastline is long, but almost all of it belongs to hotels. For photoshoots, I use one open and suitable spot that is easy to reach from most hotels in about 10–30 minutes. It is a wide strip of soft golden sand with dunes set back from the water and a calm entry into the sea.

  2. Calm sea and evening light

The sea feels lagoon-like, with a gentle entry that stays shallow for many metres. This creates the open perspective people come to Belek for. The best time is the evening light, about 1–1.5 hours before sunset.

  3. Sand lilies in August

In August, white sand lilies bloom on the dunes — a rare protected flower that grows right on the sand near the waterline. They must not be picked, touched or damaged. When we shoot during this period, I always ask clients to walk around the flowers carefully and not step on the areas where they grow.

  4. Pairing with Land of Legends

A seaside story in Belek pairs well with a shoot at The Land of Legends. For that combination, it is best to allow at least 1.5 hours for the park alone — it is large, and the frames there look very different from beach photos.

Practical details

Best time — evening light

Warm light 1–1.5 hours before sunset, golden hour and long shadows on the sand. The shoot can happen without rushing.

An accessible shoot spot

The coastline is long, but almost all of it belongs to hotels. I use one open spot — 10–30 minutes from most hotels.

What to wear

Light fabrics and natural tones look good on warm sand. Light dresses and flowing skirts are a classic choice.

Sand lilies in August

Sand lilies are protected by law. They must not be picked, touched, dug up or damaged. Damaging these flowers can lead to serious fines — roughly around 10–15 thousand dollars, depending on the lira exchange rate. During the shoot, I ask everyone to walk around the flowers carefully and not step on the areas where they grow.

Who it works for

Family sessions

A gentle entry into the water and wide soft sand make it safe and comfortable for children.

Couples and Love Story

The long open shoreline gives space for calm frames without other people in the background.

Maternity

Soft sand and a level, gentle shore make it easy to walk and pose without strain on the back.

Resort portraits

Warm evening light and a wide open perspective create the classic beach photoshoot format.

Combining with The Land of Legends

The park is nearby and gives a completely different set of frames. For this combination, allow at least 1.5 hours for the park.

August shoots with sand lilies

At the end of summer, protected white flowers bloom on the dunes — a rare natural detail that must not be touched, only carefully walked around.
