Seaside photoshoot in Antalya city
The word “Antalya” has two meanings. Antalya Region is a large province stretching from Kemer to Alanya, where you can spend hours driving between locations. Antalya city is its heart: Kaleiçi old harbour, the central promenade and city beaches. This page is about seaside shoots specifically in the city.
Within Antalya city, we have two main spots: a central pebble beach with cliffs in the background, and Sarısu women’s beach. There are also many beach clubs along the promenade, where it is sometimes possible to shoot on the sunbeds without a separate rental fee. Each location has its own rhythm and rules — I explain them below.

about the location
Where we shoot by the sea in Antalya city
Region or the city
First, an important distinction. Antalya Province stretches for hundreds of kilometres along the coast: from the pebble coves of Kemer in the west to the sandy shores of Side and Alanya in the east. When tourists write “I want a photoshoot in Antalya”, they often mean either the city itself or the whole region. It is important to clarify this in advance, because the central beach and Kemer are at least 40 minutes apart, and Side is more than an hour away. This page is only about city beaches in Antalya itself. The regional coastlines are in separate sections below.
Pebble beach downtown
The main city location is the central pebble beach. The shore is pebbly, not sandy, with cliffs and mountains in the distance — the frame is instantly recognisable, almost postcard-like. We shoot here in the morning: by midday the beach becomes busy, people appear in the frame, and the mood changes completely. At sunrise, the shore is almost empty, the light is soft and the water is smooth.
Sarısu — women only
The second location is Sarısu, west of the centre but still within Antalya city. It is a women-only beach: only women and children are allowed in. Men are not admitted, and the rule is strict. That makes Sarısu an option for solo women, friends or a mother with a child: a calm, private-feeling location without strangers watching in the frame.
Beach clubs and drinks
The third option is the beach clubs along the promenade. There are many of them, and many are happy to let us shoot on the sunbeds without a separate rental fee. The unwritten rule is that we buy a couple of drinks — both as a thank-you for the hospitality and as useful props: a cocktail in hand, a chilled glass, a sunbed with textiles. All of this makes the photos feel alive and holiday-like.

Practical details
Best time — early morning
On the central beach, we shoot from sunrise until about 9 am. It is a city beach, so by lunchtime the promenade fills with people and the frame becomes crowded. Sarısu is calmer and can also work during the day.
Sarısu — women and children only
This is not a suggestion but an entry rule: men are not admitted. If there is a man in the couple, or you are shooting as a family with a father, we choose the central beach or one of the nearby locations.
Beach clubs and drinks
They usually do not charge a separate sunbed rental, but it is customary to order a couple of drinks from the club — it is polite and also gives us a good prop. Usually this is enough to shoot calmly at the location without a separate rental fee.

Guests staying for a few days
If you are in Antalya for a short time and do not want to spend half a day travelling to Kemer or Side, a city beach is within easy reach of hotels in Lara, Kaleiçi and the centre.
Lovers of morning light
The central pebble beach works best at sunrise: warm light on the cliffs, an empty shore and quiet water. By nine in the morning, it is already hot and busy.
Women and mothers with a child
Sarısu is a rare format: a women-only beach in the city. If you want a more private shoot without strangers in the frame, a calm background and your own atmosphere, it is the most convenient option.
Couples without a car
All three locations are within the city. Any of them is 10–20 minutes by taxi from most hotels in Kaleiçi and Lara. You do not need to rent a car.
Resort portraits
Beach clubs give a resort aesthetic: cocktails, white textiles, sunbeds and flags in the breeze. If you want frames that say “I am on holiday by the sea”, this is an ideal setting.
Families and groups
The city beach is wide enough for a group of 5–8 people without feeling cramped. It works for family sessions with children and for groups of friends.
